Ilyana Serenity held sorrow in her heart. Always had, always would. Irreparable damage had been done to her at the hands of her father, George, when was but the tender age of 7. ILY's mom died and shortly thereafter is when George's mind spiraled out control. He would creep inside of her room at all hours of the night whenever he pleased and his pleasure would be sufficed by using his young, young daughter's body for his desired devious purpose of molestation. Ilyana was molested countless times as an adolescent. The torment was so prevalent, that present day, at age 22, not a day goes by where ILY does not reminisce about her physical, mental, and spiritual being violated by the same man that was supposed to be protecting her all the wicked and all that is vile in this world.
Ilyana's only shining light came in the form of her dreamboat boyfriend, Bradley. He loves here with all his heart, that much is beyond clear and has never been in question. ILY loves him too, but does she love herself? Furthermore, to bounce off that question, if one does not truly love themselves, can they ever hope to properly love another prior to sorting out whatever internal issues are stopping them from unconditional self-adoration? All questions no answers sadly for our poor ILY.
She doesn't try to play victim, the random chaos offered her by life during her defenseless formative years just did a bang-up job at making her one. A girl never developing correctly on account of a messed Over childhood. Imagine that? Her refusal to seek attention from a medical professional, any medical professional, obviously did not help matters. Did not? Does not? I forget. Ilyana may have no shot at fulfilling 100% personal happiness during her existence but she makes due with the cards she has been dealt. ILY is a hard worker, upstart thoroughbred in her little corner of the corporate world, truth be told. She, with the assistance of her beloved beau, Bradley, manages to mortgage a two-story house, pool equipped, and is dead set on gaining equity at the firm she works for under her boss, Mr. Walters. She has done quite nicely in terms of finances for only being in her early twenties.
Money cannot solve everything though. Enter in the foray her dad George. His ailing, decrepit self perceives it perfectly fine to come moseying back into his daughter's life after being estranged from her for the past 8 consecutive years. Needless to say, tempers flare when George randomly shows up at ILY's doorstep. Worse than that, after said incident unfolds, the pedophile decides to linger around in the shadows of ILY's existence, coming into coincidental contact with her here and there every so often.
Strangest part? Ilyana contemplates allowing George a second chance at fatherhood with her.
Bradley warns that he will not stand idly by and let George hurt her again.
Are the abhorrent acts he committed on her ultimately forgivable?
Above all, can Ilyana wholeheartedly forgive herself?
How can a broken heart forgive anything or anyone wholeheartedly?
