Ava is a young gal destined for greatness. Unfortunately, her fate shall also be intertwined with extreme sorrow and irreversibly damaging trauma. Ava’s parents are brutally murdered when she is only 10. They are killed by the leader of an endless legion of demons no less! To top it all off, a maniacal government employee has always shadowed Ava and her family. Mr. Rumion is his name. It is arguable whether he or the Demon King, Rugaval, is more of a threat to civilization as we know it. Frightening thought for that to be debatable. Ava has a gift or gifts. Plural. She possesses mystical powers inherited from her mother, Delilah.  
The girl will need immense assistance to hone and master all of her magical skills but that won't be a problem. A familiar old chap is more than willing to help, and far more than capable of doing so. He is a wizard of sorts himself. THE wizard, truth be told. After her parents are slain, Ava goes on the run but is eventually apprehended by Mr. Rumion and his forces. She is locked away in a prison cell for years and years. While confined, Ava starts to train martial arts all by her lonesome. The self-taught warrior evolves to become quite good. Quite good indeed. At the age of 19, it is deemed she is appropriately prepared to partake in her 1st mission on behalf of Rumion. She is to slay Rugaval by any means necessary. Ava begrudgingly accepts. What choice has she? None at all.  
The prodigal youngin' gets into all kinds of wacky adventures as she trudges through obstacle after obstacle on her way toward her eventual goal, Rugaval and his dark mahogany derriere! Rumion ain't off the hook either! She'll get back to handle him or die trying! Enter into the equation deceit, trickery, and secrets galore and you have a worthy recipe for a surplus of entertainment. Oh, and there are cookies! Freshly baked and desperately begging to be consumed! Cookies always help dire predicaments! Yum!
